Employability Awards Ceremony

On 18th February 2026, UGM Manchester proudly celebrated the achievements of students at the Employability Awards Ceremony, recognising those who successfully achieved the Employability Bronze Award.

The event brought together students, their loved ones and academic colleagues for an evening of recognition and celebration. The Employability Bronze Award is presented to students who actively engage in career-focused sessions covering career planning, professional branding, networking, soft skills enhancement, and workplace readiness.

We were honoured to welcome our guest speaker, Subrahmaniam Krishnan-Harihara, Director of Business Policy & Research at the Greater Manchester Chamber. In his address, he shared insights into the evolving Manchester labour market, highlighting the importance of adaptability, commercial awareness, and proactive career development.

In his closing remarks, Andrew Johnson, Dean of UGM Manchester, emphasised the importance of engaging in employability initiatives alongside academic studies. He encouraged students to make full use of the Employability Services available at UGM Manchester to help them pursue careers aligned with their aspirations after graduation.

Certificates and gifts were presented to each award recipient, followed by a celebratory networking dinner. The evening celebrated not only achievement, but also students’ commitment to investing in their future.
