What you need to know before the day

Tickets & Booking

Do I need a ticket? 

Yes, Graduating students must book a free student ticket. 

Guest tickets must be purchased when booking your student ticket.

If you miss the booking deadline, you will have to defer. You can do that by contacting us. 

Failure to book your ticket means you cannot attend the ceremony.

When can I book tickets? 

Your registration email contains the link to book tickets.

If you have not received the registration email, please contact us.

How many guest tickets can I buy?

Guest tickets are priced at £15.00 each. You can purchase up to 3 guest tickets.

All students and guest tickets must be booked in the same transaction 

Guest tickets include: 

  • Entry to the ceremony 
  • Access to post-ceremony reception 

You will be notified by email if extra tickets become available and will be offered first-come,first-served.

QR codes must be presented on arrival and can be shared with guests. 

Any guest without a ticket will be denied entry. 

Special Requirements

If you or your guests require accessibility support (e.g. wheelchair access, hearing assistance, mobility support), please contact the Graduation Team before booking tickets.

Academic Dress and Photography

Do I need to wear academic dress? 

Yes, academic dress is hired through the official gown and photography company, William Northam Limited.

Details on the booking process have been sent via your invitation email.  

Where do I collect my own?

Collection is on the day in a designated area in the venue.

Return of gowns is required on the same day after the ceremony 

Where are official photographs taken? 

Official graduation photography will be available before the ceremony, between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm.

Graduation merchandise will also be available from designated stands before and after the ceremony.

Certificates and Results

When will I receive my certificate? 

Certificates will not be issued during the graduation ceremony.

UGM Manchester will contact you separately after the event with further information about your certificate.
